Joining

One peculiar aspect of Freemasonry is that by tradition, we do not ask people to join us. The reason for this is to avoid the merest hint of pressure. We want no members who do not want to be members enough to learn about us, get to know us, and ask to join.

We welcome all men of good character. The requirements to join are few. You must of lawful age and sound mind and you must affirm a belief in a Supreme Being and immortal soul.

How to Join University Lodge # 141?

Download a petition to join or contact our secretary or any member of the lodge to request a petition by mail. You must initiate the joining process – we do not recruit members! Once you apply, you will be contacted, interviewed (along with your wife) and then voted on by the lodge. When accepted, you will begin the first of three degrees of instruction and obligation, following the tradition of the Masons and joining all Masons in history.

There is an initiation fee and modest annual dues.
